A 13-year-old student committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling Bedi Village of Chhatarpur after a grocery shopkeeper abused him of caste, locals protested along with Bhim Army demanding the arrest of the accused and strict action, and submitted a memorandum to the CSP.
Kishora Ahirwar, a resident of the village, said Son Anshu Ahirwar was studying in class 8. On Saturday afternoon, he went to the grocery store to buy goods and when he touched the goods in the shop, the shopkeeper Ram Shukla abused him of caste. He closed the gate of the shop and beat showered kicks, punches and assaulted him with shoes.
Kishora Ahirwar said Anshu came home and informed his younger brothers Amit and Ramratan about the incident. After this, he went to the room and hanged himself. In the evening, the postmortem of the body was done in Lavkushnagar Hospital.
The family submitted a memorandum to the CSP demanding the arrest of the accused. Protests demanding a second postmortem
On Sunday morning, Anshu's family and Bhim Army members reached the district hospital with the body. Here they demanded a second postmortem. Then they gathered at Chhatrasal Square and started protesting. After getting information about the case, CSP Aman Mishra reached the spot. The protest was pacified by assuring the family of action.
CSP Mishra said that an FIR has been registered. Statements of the family are being taken. Appropriate action will be taken after investigation.
