State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev on Tuesday countered the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s press conference and said that JMM should not mislead the public on the issue of delimitation and Manipur
Pratul said that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a nationalist organization which has always worked in the interest of the nation and Sanatan and that JMM is misrepresenting the statements of the Sangh due to irritation and frustration. Pratul said that it is not appropriate for JMM, during whose tenure Jharkhand got infamous on the international level on the issue of corruption, to comment on a nationalist organisation.
Pratul said that RSS has never opposed delimitation and believes that delimitation should be implemented in such a way that it strengthens the unity and integrity of the country. RSS has clarified that regional imbalance and cultural identity should not be ignored due to delimitation. Pratul said that on several occasions Home Minister Amit Shah has reiterated that delimitation will neither cause injustice to any state nor will the proportional reservation be reduced in any way.
Pratul said that neither the process of delimitation has been decided nor its draft has been revealed and despite that, the statement given by JMM is beyond comprehension.
Pratul said that the Sangh’s statement on Manipur was also misrepresented by JMM. The organisation believes that Manipur has been going through a difficult phase for the last 20 months and the recent administrative and political decisions taken by the Centre have given a ray of hope. Like the BJP, the Sangh also believes that the ongoing dispute in Manipur will be resolved by creating trust among all communities.
Pratul also said that now the situation in Manipur is changing rapidly. The government is also opening the long closed roads in a phased manner. Pratul said that it appears that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is resorting to such statements to mislead the public.
