New complaint in Disha Salian case
Within days after he moved the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh probe in the Disha Salian death case, former celebrity manager Disha Salian’s father Satish Salian on Tuesday submitted a complaint to the Mumbai police, seeking registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray and others in the much-discussed case.
In his complaint submitted to Mumbai’s Joint Commissioner of Police, Satish Salian named Aaditya Thackeray his bodyguards, actors Dino Morea and Suraj Pancholi, ex-police commissioner Parambir Singh, dismissed Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze and actor Rhea Chakraborty.
Talking to media persons after submitting a complaint to them Mumbai police, Salian’s lawyer Nilesh Ojha said, “Today, we have filed a written complaint with the Commissioner of Police, and the Joint Commissioner of Police Crime has accepted it” “The accused in this are Aaditya Thackeray, Dino Morea, Suraj Pancholi and his bodyguard, Parambir Singh, Sachin Vaze and Rhea Chakraborty.”
Accusing the Parambir Singh, who was the Mumbai Police Commissioner at the time of the deaths of Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput, of “masterminding” a cover-up in the celebrity-manager’s death, Ojha alleged: “Parambir Singh was the mastermind behind the cover-up in this case. He held a press conference and fabricated lies to protect Aaditya Thackeray. The NCB’s investigation papers prove that Aaditya was involved in the drug business, and this detail has also been mentioned”. Satish Salian, who was present along with his lawyer, said, “I am expecting justice for my daughter…….I won’t speak much now. I am feeling dizzy,”
Disha Salian (28), it may be recalled, had reportedly committed by falling from the 14th floor of Galaxy Regent building at Malad in north Mumbai on the intervening night of June 8-9, 2020. She had allegedly ended her life five days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide at his rented duplex flat in Bandra in north-west Mumbai on June 14, 2020.
Earlier, in a petition filed in the Bombay HC last week, Satish had sought a fresh probe, an FIR against Aaditya and transfer of the case to the CBI.
The petition has not been admitted yet by the high court. The petition will likely come up for hearing in the first week of April.
On his part, Aaditya Thackeray has said that he would respond to all the allegations against him in the court.
Dismissing the allegations being made against him in the Disha Salian death case, Aaditya said that an attempt was being made to tarnish his reputation and said he would respond to them in court. “For the last five years they have been trying to defame me. They will stand exposed on all counts…the matter is in the court…I will respond in the court,” Aaditya told media persons last week.
