The family of TCS manager Manav Sharma is in shock following his suicide, demanding strict action against his wife, Nikita and her family. After a case was registered against them, Nikita and her family have gone missing.
However, she has released a video on social media, denying all allegations.
Manav’s sister, Akanksha, has dismissed Nikita’s claims, stating that Manav was under severe stress due to repeated threats of police action.
She revealed that on the day of the incident, Nikita called Manav at around 2:30 PM.
Earlier, she had spoken to her brother until 12:40 PM, during which he had sent her some documents for preparing a PPT.
“Nikita insisted on speaking to him, saying that he was about to do something drastic,” Akanksha said. Concerned, she immediately called Manav, but he didn’t answer.
Instead, he messaged, saying he was watching a video and that it would end soon.
Akanksha inquired about his well-being, asking if he had a bad dream.
Manav replied that he was fine and was going to sleep. Believing everything was alright, she informed Nikita, hoping to prevent any marital dispute.
“I never imagined my brother would take such a drastic step,” she added.
According to Akanksha, Manav had learned about Nikita’s past through an Instagram account, which deeply disturbed him. In a previous incident, he had even attempted self-harm. Their parents traveled to Mumbai to counsel him. Later, he came to Agra with the intention of divorcing Nikita.
However, upon arrival, he was allegedly threatened by Nikita and her family, which pushed him further into depression and led to his suicide.
The grieving parents are demanding justice but remain too devastated to speak extensively.
In response to the accusations, Nikita released a video defending herself. She claimed that Manav had attempted suicide twice before, and she had saved him both times.
She said she had even informed Manav’s father and sister about his mental state shortly before his death. Nikita also shared WhatsApp chat records as evidence to support her claims.
Nikita further stated that Manav had dropped her off at her parents’ home in Barhan that evening, seemingly in good spirits. She admitted that he had been under stress for some time, but she had always supported him.
She alleged that when she raised concerns about his mental health with her in-laws, they dismissed it as a personal matter between husband and wife.
She also claimed that it was she who brought Manav from Mumbai to Agra to help him recover.
Akanksha recalled how emotional Manav was even on his wedding day.
“When he was bringing Nikita home after their wedding, he was in tears, worried about how our parents would manage without him,” she said. “He was always deeply moved by others’ suffering.”
In a similar case, Atul Subhash Modi, an AI engineer in a Bengaluru-based company, had also died by suicide. Before taking the drastic step, he recorded a one hour 20-minute-long video and left a 24-page suicide note, accusing his wife and in-laws of harassment.
The tragic case of Manav Sharma has once again raised concerns over marital disputes leading to extreme consequences, with both sides presenting conflicting narratives.
The police investigation is ongoing.
