Days before Municipal Elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) late night on Monday expelled 58 leaders for "anti-party activities" for six years.
The expelled leaders belongs to the Gurugram and Manesar Municipal Corporations and Pataudi Municipal Committee.
A few of these leaders are contesting as independents in MC elections after they were denied the party's ticket for elections.
BJP District President Kamal Yadav issued a letter on Monday which stated, "After discussing with the State President Haryana Mohan Lal Kaushik ji, the following BJP workers who are contesting elections against the party and are involved in anti-party activities, are expelled from the BJP for six years and their primary membership is terminated with immediate effect."
Most of the outgoing councillors of the BJP were upset after they were denied the party's ticket for elections. Many of them have come into the fray as independents and have contested.
"The candidates contesting as rebels are calling themselves party candidates. We received complaints related to the matter. People should not be fooled by them.
Such people are spreading confusion. The one who contests elections on the party symbol is the party candidate," Kamal Yadav, BJP district president said.
The list, released by the BJP, featured names including former mayor Vimal Yadav his wife and former councillor Rimple Yadav, former deputy mayor Parminder Katariya, Avnish Raghav Khandsa, (district secretary), Rakesh Yadav Fazilpur, Praveen Lata, Neeraj Yadav (divisional vice president), former divisional president Dharmender Bajaj, former Division General Secretary Ashok Dabas, former councillor, Rama Rani Rathi, former councillor and Ashwani Sharma, former councillor Sanjay Pradhan and former councillor Yogender Sarwan.
Other names in the list were Sahab Ram (Lilu Sarpanch), Inderjeet Yadav, Rakesh Yadav, Rahul Yadav, Sandeep Mehlawat, Navin Dahiya, Dinesh Dahiya, Deepak Kataria, Lakhpat Kataria, Mahavir Yadav, Ajay Nambardar, Gagandeep Kilhod, Ruchi Kilhod, Shreyas Jain, Pramod Yadav, Sachin Tanwar, Binu Chahar Mahila Morcha, Prem Gairathi, Mangal Singh Gwal Pahari, Ashok Pehlwan, Meenakshi, Riku, Kunal Yadav, Deepak Yadav, Pankaj Yadav, Sajjan Yadav, Barkha Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Mahesh Kumar, Jyotsna Bajaj, Bhagat Kataria.
