The Dalit candidates of BJP for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections on Friday condemned the attack on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue in Amritsar in Punjab, and criticized the silence of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, questioning their dedication to the Dalit community.
BJP candidates Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Rajkumar Anand, Advocate Priyanka Gautam, Rinku Kumari, Khushi Ram Chunar, Deepak Valmiki, Deepti Indora, and Kamal Bagri addressed a joint press conference accusing Kejriwal’s silence of exposing AAP’s anti-Dalit stance.
“If Kejriwal cannot speak up for Baba Saheb today, he will remain silent tomorrow if an MLA from the Dalit community faces injustice?” they asked. They also pointed out that Kejriwal has never given Rajya Sabha representation to a Dalit or appointed a Dalit Deputy Chief Minister in the past decade.
