Nurturing Young Skin

While looking for a landscape in children’s skincare, it is important for parents to find the correct skincare for their kids, says ABHI SINGHAL

Children's skincare is a growing concern in today's fast-paced, digital world. As children are increasingly exposed to environmental factors and social media trends, maintaining their delicate skin's health becomes essential. Unlike adults, children’s skin requires gentle, age-appropriate products that cater to their unique needs, promoting healthy hygiene habits from an early age. However, finding solutions that balance safety, effectiveness, and appeal can be challenging. Parents often struggle to find a way between harsh commercial products and ineffective alternatives, making it crucial to develop skincare routines tailored for children. Dermatologists recommend using gentle, hypoallergenic products free from parabens and artificial fragrances to avoid irritation.

Vidya Madhavan, Founder of Y Play Z, a children’s skincare brand, while talking to The Pioneer emphasised on the importance of responsible skincare for children in today’s digital age. "Children today are growing up in a world where exposure to skincare trends on social media is inevitable. Our goal is to help parents adopt safe and responsible skincare for their little ones," she says. Designing skincare products for children and teenagers presents unique challenges, particularly in balancing safety, efficacy, and appeal. The importance of children’s skincare cannot be overlooked, and it comes with numerous benefits. Proper skincare prevents common issues such as dryness, irritation, and sensitivity, which are prevalent in young skin. Hydration is essential, and the use of natural ingredients ensures that children’s skin remains nourished without exposure to harmful chemicals. A well-curated skincare routine also helps instil good hygiene habits early on, making self-care an integral part of growing up.

As awareness around children's skincare grows, it is essential for parents to choose products that are safe, gentle, and effective.  By giving priority to skincare for the young, parents can ensure their children develop confidence and a sense of self-care from an early age.
