Rohit Bal’s Last Show at Lakmé Fashion Week

No one could have imagined that Rohit Bal’s show at Lakmé Fashion Week would be his last. But after witnessing his breathtaking final collection, Kaaynaat: A Bloom in the Universe, it’s clear this was a farewell like no other.

The grand finale was a celebration of nature’s timeless beauty, as Rohit Bal’s signature craftsmanship unfolded on the runway. Kaaynaat was a poetic tribute to the delicate elegance of flowers and the boundless beauty of the universe. Inspired by the Lakmé Rouge Bloom launch, the collection embraced the slow, graceful unfolding of life, much like a flower blooming in full glory.

The runway featured a beautiful mix of flowing fabrics, detailed embroidery, and bright colours, with each piece reflecting the wonders of the universe. Every garment had a story to tell, with delicate floral motifs symbolising the cycle of life, from the tiniest bud to the full bloom under the starry sky. The collection’s use of colour was bold yet serene, capturing both the wildness and tranquillity of nature.

Lakmé muse Ananya Panday walked the ramp as the showstopper, embodying the essence of the collection’s celestial beauty. Her presence perfectly complemented the theme of the collection.

The entire show was a fusion of fashion, beauty and nature, with Rohit Bal’s expert tailoring and design sensibility meeting the elegance of Lakmé’s Beauty X Fashion philosophy. It wasn’t just a grand finale to Lakmé Fashion Week, but a tribute to a designer who has shaped India’s fashion landscape for decades.

Rohit Bal’s words about the collection now resonate even more deeply: “Kaaynaat was a journey through the wonders of nature, celebrating the bloom of life and beauty. Partnering with Lakmé has been an incredible experience, and this collection reflects both the grace of nature and the enduring power of beauty.”

This show was not only a fitting farewell but a lasting memory of the artistry and vision of a true icon.
