A drunk youth tried to hit a police constable posted at Baghsewania police station after he asked details of the vehicle at RRL trisection on Saturday night.

Police said that a young man was drinking alcohol after parking his car on the roadside at RRL trisection in Bhopal. Constable Suman Kumar of Bagsewania police station asked him to go home. On this, the accused started arguing. When the constable talked about going to the police station, the accused started to scuffle with him.

While running away, the accused ran one of the wheels of the car over the constable's foot. The incident took place in the night on Saturday. The police have registered a case on Sunday morning. The accused has been taken into custody.

SI Mukesh Sthaphak said that constable Suman Kumar is posted at Bagsewania police station. His duty was on Charlie duty on Saturday night. While patrolling, he saw a car on the roadside at RRL Tiraha. The lights were on inside. When the constable checked the car, he found a young man drinking alcohol inside.

When he was asked to leave from there, he started misbehaving. When the constable asked him to go to the police station, the accused jostled with him. Not only this, he tried to run away. During this, he ran one of the wheels of the car over the constable's feet. Due to which he got injured. On the complaint of the constable, an FIR has been registered for obstruction in government work and assault.

The accused has been identified as Siddharth Agarwal. He was calling himself a property dealer. The police have taken the accused into custody. His car number MP04ZF0650 has also been seized.
