Hanumanganj police have nabbed a vehicle lifter and recovered a stolen e-rickshaw worth Rs 2 lakh from the accused.
Police said that August 29 a complaint was made by Hemant Kumar Sen of LIG 3/15 Vishwakarma Nagar Housing Board Karond, reported that on August 28 at 5 pm parked e-rickshaw bearing registration MP04ZH1378, engine number YCSUM08037, chassis number M22YCESU23D008037 in front of the main gate of railway station platform number 6 and went to the tyre repair shop.
At around 5.30 pm, some unknown thief stole e-rickshaw. Based on the complaint a case under section 303 (2) BNS was registered and investigation was started.
On receiving the information of the incident, senior officers were immediately informed about the incident, after receiving instructions, a team was formed and sent.
During the search, information was received regarding the miscreant involved in stealing the e-rickshaw around on Kabad Khana Road. The accused was identified as Mohammad Anas of Kabit Pura.
