Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, an integrated steel producer and a subsidiary of the Vedanta Group, clinched the Gold Medal at the 6th Conclave on 5S System of Workplace Management. The event, organized by the Bokaro Chapter of the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), was held at Bokaro Club Ltd and featured participation from 18 teams across various units.
The victorious ESL team included Aleya Arshi, Aysha Gupta, Tanya Kumari, and Neerav, who presented their successful implementation of the 5S System— a globally recognized workplace management methodology that emphasizes safety, efficiency, and cleanliness.
The event was attended by prominent figures including PK Rath (Executive Director, SAIL Refractory), Mahesh Tripathi (Director, Chinmaya School), Manoj Kumar Dubey (Secretary, QCFI), and Meenakshi Sabharwal (Chief Quality Officer, ESL Steel Limited).
Sabharwal lauded the team’s achievement, highlighting the ongoing implementation of the 5S System at ESL Steel. “We are committed to achieving final certification by November 2024, ensuring total employee involvement in this innovative process,” she said.
This accolade follows ESL Steel's recent Gold Medal at the 5th CII National EHS Circle Competition, reaffirming the company's dedication to excellence and best practices in workplace management.
