A 36-year-old man died while four others escaped with injuries after their speeding van overturned on Thursday night on Bhopal-Indore Highway Khajuri Road, while the family was on its way back to Ashta after visiting Bhopal.
The driver along with four children are slightly injured. All the injured have been discharged from Hamidia Hospital after initial treatment. The police have registered a case in the matter. The accident is being investigated. Head constable Banap Singh said that Wahid Qureshi (36) of Ashta, was a farmer. On Thursday afternoon, driver Wasim and son Wajid, daughter Rahat, nephew Saka and niece Tausifa went to Bhopal. While returning their speeding Omni van overturned after hitting a tree on Khajuri Road near Rajput Dhaba.
Due to this, Wahid, who was riding in the van, fell out after hitting the windscreen. Due to this, he suffered serious head injuries. The police have registered a case and started an investigation in the matter.
After the accident, passersby took all the injured to Hamidia Hospital with the help of an ambulance. After initial treatment, all four children and Wasim, who was driving the van, were discharged. Wasim has a fracture in his leg, all the children have minor injuries. After getting information about the accident, the family reached Bhopal late at night. After which the children were handed over to them. On Friday afternoon, Wahid's body was handed over to the family after a postmortem. His family said that they have no information regarding the accident. After getting information about the incident, they came to Bhopal to take the body.
