An award distribution ceremony “Excellence Ki Aur Badhe Kadam '' organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India was organized at India Habitat Center, New Delhi on Thursday.

On this occasion, Union Minister, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar awarded the second prize at the national level to the state of Jharkhand under the Best Social Infrastructure category in Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Urban Livelihood Mission under the 'Systematic Progressive Analytical Real Time Ranking' (SPARK-2023-24).

Along with this, Medininagar Municipal Corporation was awarded the second prize at the national level for doing excellent work in the category of empowerment of street vendors under the financial mandate in Performance Recognition for Access to Financial Inclusion and Street Vendor empowerment (PRAISE-AWARD-2023-24). On this occasion, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Tokhan Sahu, Secretary Anurag Jain, Rahul Kapoor, Joint Secretary and Shalini Pandey, Director PM Swanidhi were present.

On behalf of the state government, Arwa Rajkamal, Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Javed Hasan, Municipal Commissioner, Medininagar Municipal Corporation, Anshu Kumari, Assistant Director, Abhilasha Kumari, Assistant Director, Santoshni Murmu, Assistant Administrator, Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, City Mission Manager Satish Kumar and Abhishek Kumar and representatives of women self-help groups and street vendors of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation were also present to receive the above award. The Urban Development and Housing Department has congratulated the entire Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihood Mission team for this honour.
