UP govt launches app dedicated to Maha Kumbh

In response to the curiosity and eagerness of people nationwide and globally about Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an official app dedicated to the event.

This app aims to provide comprehensive information about the Maha Kumbh, ensuring that users stay informed about various aspects of this significant religious gathering.

Users will find a wealth of resources on the app, including books and blogs focused on the Maha Kumbh and Kumbh, offering deeper insights into the traditions and importance of the event.

The app has been launched by the Mela Authority and is available for download on the Google Play Store, making it accessible for everyone interested in learning more about Maha Kumbh 2025.

Prayagraj is one of India’s oldest cities, known as ‘Prayag’ or ‘Tirthraj’ in ancient texts, and is regarded as one of the holiest pilgrimage sites. The city is famous for hosting the annual Magh Mela, the Kumbh Mela every six years, and the Maha Kumbh Mela every 12 years. UNESCO has recognised the Kumbh Mela as an intangible cultural heritage.

This year, extensive preparations are underway in Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh 2025.

To help people learn more about the event, the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 app has been launched. The app offers essential information about Maha Kumbh 2025, details about the Kumbh’s history, and includes notable books and blogs about the Maha Kumbh.

It even features reports by major institutions like IIM, providing valuable resources for those interested in researching the Maha Kumbh.

The ‘Explore Prayagraj’ blog by UP Tourism has been featured in the Maha Kumbh app’s blog section, highlighting both the spiritual and modern sides of Sangam City. This blog introduces Prayagraj, detailing its attractions and notable personalities.

Also included is the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2019 study by the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, which provides a comprehensive evaluation of the grand event.

The app also features reports such as Paint My City, Swachh Kumbh, Prayagraj Smart City, Smart Future, and The Magnificence of Kumbh, offering insights into Prayagraj and the Mahakumbh.

Additionally, the app includes information on various studies and books on the Kumbh, making it a valuable resource for researchers interested in the event.
