Union Bank of India (UBI), Ranchi Zone organized a national level general knowledge quiz competition "U - Genius" 30 program on Wednesday in Ranchi in which a total 528 students from 66 schools of the city and nearby areas participated.
The program was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the special guest Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Ranchi, Dr Ashok Kumar Shrivastava, Zonal Head, Ranchi, Baijnath Singh, Deputy Zonal Head, Vijay Kumar Rai, Deputy Zonal Head, Shashikant and Area Head, Ranchi, Alok Kumar.
"U Genius - 3.0" program is one of the All India wide level competitions organized in 48 cities of 18 ambalas across the country. The objective of this competition is to focus on educational enrichment in children, create a spirit of competition and promote their intellectual development. In this competition, first the city prelim round was held in which only 6 teams in which 2 participants per team getting top marks advanced to the final round and after five rounds of quiz competition, the winning team was declared as Khehil Kumar Gupta and Dev Mukherjee of St. Xavier's Vidyalay, Doranda Ranchi and the runner-up team was declared as Swapril Kumar and Anuj Kumar, DAV Vidyalay Hehal, Ranchi.
The Chief Guest presented trophies and certificates of participation and appreciation to the city finalists of the city
The winning team is nominated for the Zonal Round to be held in the next stage. “The Zonal Round will be held on September 21 at Bhubaneswar and top 2 teams from each zone will be selected for the National Semi Final Round.
"National Round" The top 2 winning teams in each Zonal Round will advance to the National Round. A total of 16 teams will participate in the National Semi-Final Round and the top 6 scoring teams will advance to the Grand Finale which will be held on November 7 in Mumbai.
Winner of National Grand Finale to be held at Mumbai will be awarded Cash Prize of Rs. 2,00,000, First Runner Up team will be awarded Cash Prize of Rs. 1,00,000, Second Runner Up team will be awarded Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000 along with trophies and certificates.
During the program, the Chief Guest Speaker encouraged and guided the children present and discussed in detail with the teachers from various schools of the city about the importance of this program and the services and products of Union Bank of India and described Union Bank of India as a trustworthy nationalized bank.
