BJP launches scathing attack on CM designate Atishi

Delhi BJP on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister designate Atishi by calling her a ‘puppet Chief Minister’ and stating that by proposing her name for the post, Arvind Kejriwal has pushed Delhi towards ‘anarchy and communism’.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said, “Delhi citizens, who are already suffering under a corrupt government, will now have to endure an anti-national one. History shows that Atishi has held anti-national and anti-social views on various issues, from the Kargil War to others. She has even said, ‘Vote for goons, but not for the capable (BJP)’.”

Over Atishi’s remark stating ‘Delhi has only one Chief Minister and his name is Arvind Kejriwal’, Sachdeva claimed that by admitting that Kejriwal will remain the real Chief Minister, Atishi has revealed herself to be a Puppet CM. “The only question now is whether Kejriwal or Sisodia will hold the remote control,” he alleged, adding that AAP will not be able to hide the black stains of corruption, incompetence, and chaos.

The Delhi BJP chief remarked that Kejriwal has been and will continue to be guilty in the eyes of Delhi’s people. Further, New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj remarked, “Today is an unfortunate day for Delhi, as the full stop that the Delhi government has placed on developmental works remains unchanged, no matter the face. Atishi's own statement reveals her disappointment with the situation.”

She alleged that while Atishi will be the face, Kejriwal will hold the power. “Kejriwal is not fighting to save democracy but to kill it, and now Atishi has joined him in this endeavor,” she asserted, adding that Atishi’s statement has set back women’s empowerment by 1,000 years with her words. Bansuri said, “Kejriwal holds all the powers without any accountability.”

Attacking the Delhi government, South Delhi BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said that making Atishi the new Chief Minister of Delhi will not wash away the sins of the Kejriwal government. “The AAP government will have to answer for the condition of Delhi due to corruption, short-sightedness and inefficiency in the last ten years. As a minister, Atishi is equally responsible for it,” he claimed.

He stated that AAP had to put Atishi in Kejriwal’s place because the Supreme Court had imposed restrictions on him, who is surrounded by corruption, from working as the Chief Minister.

Vice President of Delhi BJP Kapil Mishra claimed that while the AAP is busy with propaganda and corruption, the BJP is consistently working on the ground. “The Lieutenant Governor has signed an order that will give people ownership rights over ancestral properties, which will be a reality soon. The people of Delhi are now determined to bring the BJP to power to transform the city's future,” he said. Staff Reporter n New Delhi
