After the drivers have returned from the strike regarding the Hit and Run law the Drivers Federation and the Motor Mazdoor Sangh are starting the Quit Steering Movement from January 7.
However, its impact was not much visible in Bhopal. Late at night, a meeting of drivers was held at Nadra bus stand. In which it was decided that no driver would take out the vehicle from the four bus stands of the city on Sunday. Due to which only a few drivers left their vehicles in the morning at bus stands like Nadra, ISBT, Halalpur etc., most of the drivers were seen driving. Red buses also started running on the roads in the city this morning.
On the other hand, the Transport Association has appealed to the drivers to stop any unorganized and mischievous elements trying to spoil the environment in this way.
The decision was taken around 11:30 pm that buses will not run in the morning. The red bus and private bus drivers of the city regarding this matter, it came to light that it has been decided that they will not take out the buses in the morning. Bhopal bus operator Surendra Tanwani said that there is no impact of this movement in Bhopal, no driver is going on strike on January 7. Some unorganized and mischievous elements are trying to spoil the atmosphere. Therefore, I would request the drivers not to get misled, because the Central Government has made its stand clear in this matter. It is not being implemented now, it will be implemented only after thinking.
Madhya Pradesh Drivers Federation Vice President Shravan Mishra said that the new law related to hit and run has not been withdrawn yet. We were misled by the association. It has come to light that it will not be implemented for just a few days. Therefore we will raise our voice once again. Due to which this Quit Steering movement is being started.
CL Mukati, President of All India Motor Transport Congress, has said that driver brothers, a national wide movement was organized by you. In which a demand was made to withdraw Section 106 (1), (2) of the Indian Justice Code 2023. Then Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla had a discussion with our apex organization All India Motor Transport Congress. In which a joint decision has been taken that the new law will not be implemented, and it will be reconsidered in future.
This is true and your and our movement is over. Some mischievous elements are misleading the drivers by publishing misleading letters, videos, social media and news. Nothing has been said by the Central Government that this law will not be implemented again.
