On June 5th, in celebration of World Environment Day, the Director-in-Charge of Bokaro Steel Plant, Birendra Kumar Tiwari, led a tree plantation event at City Park in Bokaro. This year’s World Environment Day campaign, themed "Our Land - Our Future," focuses on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.
Joining DIC Tiwari at the event were Executive Director (Projects and additional charge Material Management) C. R. Mohapatra, Executive Director (Finance and Accounts) Suresh Rangani, Executive Director (Personnel and Administration and additional charge Works) Rajan Prasad, along with Chief General Managers and senior executives.
In his address, DIC B.K Tiwari emphasized the shared responsibility of protecting our planet. He remarked, “The Earth is our common home, and its preservation is our collective duty. If we do not make concerted efforts to save our environment now, we will face severe challenges in the future.” He urged the community to plant more trees in the plant and township areas, noting that the survival rate of saplings is highest during the monsoon season.
The tree plantation initiative by Bokaro Steel Plant is part of a larger campaign to green and clean the city, with similar activities being conducted in other areas of the plant and township.
