Tight security arrangements for Bakrid

Tight security arrangements have been made in Jharkhand for Bakrid. Police headquarters has informed that 4900 police force, six companies of Rapid Action Police, 5 companies of CRPF, one company of Rapid Action Force of CRPF, besides additional deployment of 5000 home guard jawans have been done in various districts.

Apart from this, 1,000 reserve police force has been kept with the IG-DIG of all zones, so that they can be used in adverse situations. Communally sensitive places have been marked in police stations across the state. Police will keep a close watch in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Giridih.

Police Headquarters Jharkhand has asked the SP of all districts to depute jawans as per requirement with all security equipment during Bakrid. Jawans will be deployed in sensitive areas with riot control equipment, sticks, helmets, body protectors, cane shields, tear gas guns and other equipment. Unruly elements will also be monitored through drone cameras. Policemen have been asked to be ready to deal with any situation.

Total of 2000 additional jawans will be deployed in Ranchi district. This arrangement will be in place from June 16 to June 18. SSP Chandan Sinha said that Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed at all sensitive places. “Apart from this, RAP, JAP, IRB jawans of Jharkhand Police will also be deployed in Ranchi. Quick Response Team (QRT) will also be fully alert. In case of emergency, the squad will leave immediately for deployment. The force will reach its deputed place from Sunday evening itself. The DSP will also be responsible for surveillance,” he added.

“Jawans will be deployed in groups of 20 each at crossroads and sensitive places. At the same time, PCR and police station patrolling vehicles deployed in the city have been asked to continuously patrol their respective areas. If anyone is suspected of being suspicious, they have also been asked to verify immediately. Apart from all the police station in-charges, the DSP has also been given the responsibility of surveillance,” said Sinha.

The SSP said that there will be a special eye on social media.” A special team has been formed for this, which will keep an eye on the pictures and videos posted etc. People have been asked to refrain from posting or sharing pictures that hurt anyone's sentiments,” he added. The SSP said that action will be taken against those who share rumour-spreading posts by filing an FIR under non-bailable sections. “CCTV cameras have been installed at 70 places to keep an eye on the entire Ranchi. More than 50 jawans have been deployed for this. The Ranchi SSP's order states that if anyone tries to disturb peace and harmony, he should be arrested and sent to jail. All police station in-charges have been asked to remain mobile in their areas,” he added.
