Punjab Government has elevated three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), bringing the total count of ADGPs in the state to a record 28.
The three IPS officers promoted to the ADGP rank are Nilabh Kishore, Shive Kumar Verma, and Jaskaran Singh, all belonging to the 1998 batch. However, it's worth noting that out of the existing 28 ADGPs, three officers — Kapil Dev, Rajiv Ahir, and PK Rai — are currently on deputation to the Central Government.
The top echelons of the Punjab Police now boast a formidable lineup, with Gaurav Yadav and VK Bhawra serving as Director Generals of Police (DGPs), and 15 IPS officers holding the rank of Special DGPs.
Notably, some DGP-ranked officers, including Dinkar Gupta, Parag Jain, and Harpreet Singh Sidhu, are currently serving on central deputation.
Furthermore, the Punjab Police's roster includes a robust contingent of ADGPs, comprising Naresh Kumar Arora, Ram Singh, SS Srivastava, PK Sinha, B Chandra Shekhar, AS Rai, V Neeraja, Anita Punj, Parmod Ban, MF Farooqui, Amit Prasad, G Nageshwar Rao, Vibhu Raj, LK Yadav, Naunihal Singh, Arun Pal, RK Jaiswal, GS Dhillon, Mohnish Chawla, SPS Parmar, AK Pandey, with the new addition of Shive Kumar Verma, Jaskaran Singh, and Nilabh Kishore.
