--Dense fog engulfs several places: Even as the State saw a slight rise in the night temperature in the last 24 hours, the Regional Office of the IMD here on Tuesday said the temperature would drop by 2 to3 degree Celsius after three days.
Koraput recorded the lowest temperature of 8.4 degree Celsius on Monday night. The mercury was at 11 degree or less at three other places in the State, G Udayagiri 9 degree, Daringbadi 10.5 degree and Phulbani 11 degree, all in Kandhamal district. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 16.4 and 16.5 degree, respectively.
Koraput and Angul at 11.6 were the only two places that saw below-normal temperature with mercury dropping by 4.4 and 2.2 degrees, respectively.
Dense fog also engulfed Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela, Angul and Phulbani in the morning. Shallow to moderate fog was also seen at Kendrapada, Jharsuguda, Chandbali, Bhawanipatna, Keonjhar and Paradip.
The IMD has sounded a Yellow warning for several districts till January 11 morning.
