Teachers are architects of an ideal society and nation: Governor

Governor Mangubhai Patel emphasized that teachers are the true architects of an ideal society and nation. Highlighting their significance, he noted that while parents give birth and instill values in their children, it is teachers who shape them into responsible citizens by imparting knowledge and life values.

Education, he stated, is the foundation of progress and the most effective means to cultivate qualities like equality, self-reliance, and self-respect within society. Governor Patel urged teachers to instill in students a sense of patriotism and compassion for the less privileged, reminding them that their role goes beyond teaching-they are contributors to building a developed and globally leading India. Patel delivered these remarks at the state-level teacher felicitation event and uniform fund distribution programme held at the Academy of Administration with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav presiding over the event.

Governor Patel and Chief Minister Yadav offered floral tributes to the portrait of Mata Saraswati and garlanded the portrait of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The programme started with the recitiation Saraswati Vandana. Chief Minister Yadav planted a mango sapling at the programme venue. Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented shawls, shriphal, citation and honorarium cheque to the 14 teachers selected for the State Level Teachers Award-2024, two teachers who received the National Teachers' Award in 2023 and the teachers who stood first, second and third in the state level educational seminar.

On this occasion, the teachers of CM Rise Vinoba School, Ratlam, who got first place in the world for innovation category by the international organization T-4 Education, were also honoured. Three students and their guide teachers were also honoured under the INSPIRE Award MANAK Yojana. Governor Patel and Chief Minister Yadav transferred an amount of Rs 324 crore for uniforms to the accounts of 54 lakh students of the state with a single click.

Patel said that teachers should prepare children for self-employment and self-reliance along with knowledge. Teach them the skills to become Strong and successful in today's competitive era. Teachers should inculcate moral qualities like sharing and caring, morality, kindness, cooperation etc. in children.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the new National Education Policy is being effectively implemented in the state. The state government is making unprecedented efforts to increase the quality and accessibility of education. In this sequence, CM Rise School is an ambitious project of the state government, which is a special initiative to improve the quality of education. This project will be successful in improving the intellectual, mental, physical and social development of children.

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is the basis of the strength of the contemporary education system and the pride of Indian culture

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that through the new education policy, many efforts are being made to include and implement values-based education in the curriculum. Historically, the Guru-Shishya tradition have had special importance in Indian culture. The result of this is that Indian society played an important role effectively in the challenges faced by the country in every situation.

In every challenging situation, the educational institutions of the country have been active and alert in discharging their responsibilities. Ram and Lakshman, who were being trained as disciples also faced the challenges of that time with determination.

Lord Krishna came to Sandipani Ashram and became adept in 64 arts, 14 Vidyas, 18 Puranas, four Vedas and learnt coordination between weapons and scriptures. The words that came out of his mouth during the fierce battle have come before the world in the form of Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta. This is proof of the strength of the then education system and a basis of pride for Indian culture. This continuity of tradition is also seen in the form of Chandragupta and Chanakya. In the same sequence, Samrat Vikramaditya also defeated the invaders and established order.

Lord Macaulay made every effort to destroy the Indian education system

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the continuity of the strong base of the Indian education system is clearly reflected in all the challenging circumstances of history. The result of this is that our educational and intellectual institutions which are the basis of power and strength, always became the target of enemy attacks and Takshashila and Nalanda were destroyed by the invaders. In this sequence, Lord Macaulay made every possible effort to destroy the Indian education system. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has included a curriculum focused on India's glorious past in the Indian education system through the National Education Policy-2020. India, along with becoming prosperous and powerful, is continuously moving on the path of becoming a world leader. We are moving on and establishing human values in the entire world with the sublime spirit of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah- Sarve Santu Niramayah.

School Education Department is committed to provide better environment for education and better results

School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the department is continuously working for better environment, better ambience, better system, better resources and better results for school education in the state. He informed that the department has added more than 74 thousand guest teachers this year, who are continuously and committedly striving for qualitative improvement in education.

At the outset, Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav were welcomed and presented with saplings. Commissioner, Public Instruction, Smt. Shilpa Gupta also greeted them with a memento. Secretary, School Education Dr. Sanjay Goyal proposed the vote of thanks. Principal Secretary Public Affairs Dr. E. Ramesh, former Chairman Madhya Pradesh Pharmacy Council Shri Om Jain, respected teachers, students and officers were present in the programme.
