TDR portal to accelerate development schemes

Sunday, 01 September 2024 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

To overcome the difficulties faced in acquiring land for government development projects in the state and to make it transparent, Town and Country Planning has prepared the Transferable Development Rights Portal (TDR Portal). This portal has been prepared through MPSEDC. The purpose of creating this portal is to encourage planned and controlled development. Through the portal, landowners can transfer their land's development potential from one place to another. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav provided convenience to the citizens by launching the TDR portal in a function held on August 12 in Bhopal.

Any government agency in the state, that requires any land to implement its project, can apply to obtain that land through the TDR portal. After this, any land owner who gives free land for government projects gets the right to develop at least double the area of ??his dedicated land. The land owner can exercise these development rights himself or sell them through TDR Bank. Apart from this, these can also be purchased by common citizens or any manufacturing organization on this portal. Through the TDR portal, both buyers and sellers can connect as per their needs. A list of all distributed development rights will also be available on the TDR portal, which can be viewed.

TDR is completely secure and user-friendly. This makes harnessing the development potential of land acquisition beneficial to both the government and the land owner.

Key points of information available in TDR portal-

Transferable Development Rights Rule 2018 is effective in Madhya Pradesh.

If the land owner surrenders the land ownership free of cost, he will be eligible for development rights of at least double the area of the land surrendered.

Under the rules, 4 routes of Indore city and metro corridor of Bhopal have been notified as production areas.

The entire municipal corporation area of Indore and Bhopal has been notified.

In the development plans of big cities of the state like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain, the land falling under the roads of width 24 meters and above has been notified as a production area.

Action is being taken by the implementing organization to issue a development rights certificate for the production area.
