A man was injured in a clash with supporters of a BJP leader in Dumka after a ‘fake’ list of BJP candidates for Jharkhand assembly elections went viral on social media on Wednesday.

The list claimed that former MP Sunil Soren would be made the BJP candidate from Dumka in place of former minister Louis Marandi. Leading to this Louis Marandi supporters and Sunil Soren supporters clashed with each other. The matter escalated from heated arguments and debate to stabbing.

The factionalism going on within the BJP in Dumka is well known. From the Lok Sabha elections to the assembly elections, the discord going on within the party keeps coming out from time to time.

On Wednesday night, the bloody result of the factionalism going on within the BJP and the viral claims on social media of Sunil Soren being made the candidate from Dumka in place of Louis Marandi was seen, when a heated debate took place between Sunil Soren supporters and Louis Marandi supporters in Indira Nagar Jarwadih locality over the viral list.

The matter escalated so much that Sunil Soren's supporter Sitaram Mishra and his son stabbed Louis Marandi's supporter Anuj Singh with a knife. Anuj Singh was injured in the knife attack after which he was admitted to Phooljhano Medical College Hospital for treatment. After consulting doctors, Anuj Singh is resting at his home.

Police have started investigating the whole matter. The accused Sitaram Mishra is said to be absconding since the incident. After the incident, supporters of Louis Marandi are said to be angry.

Anuj Singh has said in his statement to the media that the accused was saying wrong things about Louis Marandi's ticket being cut, due to which he clashed with Sitaram Mishra.
