After UP and Bihar, now there is news of recruitment exam paper being leaked in Jharkhand too. The 11th Combined Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2023 was conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) on 17 March. During this time, candidates created ruckus at the examination centers in Dhanbad, Chatra and Jamtara alleging that the paper was leaked.
A section of students created a ruckus in two examination centres in Chatra and Jamtara districts on Sunday, alleging that the question paper of the Jharkhand PSC's prelims was leaked. However, the government, rejected the allegations, stating that the JPSC preliminary examination was conducted according to the rules. A section of candidates who appeared for the examination at the Upendranath Verma Inter College in Chatra alleged that the seal of the question paper was broken at the principal's office before the schedule.
On getting the information about paper leak, Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Gholap and SP Vikas Pandey reached the centre. Additional Collector Arvind Kumar, who was the nodal officer for the examination, however, denied the allegations that the paper leak were leak.
About a dozen aspirants in an examination hall were creating a ruckus, he said, adding that it went peacefully in the eight other halls of the centre.
A section of aspirants at JJS College in Jamtara's Mihijam also created a ruckus, alleging paper leak. They claimed that the question paper of General Studies was opened before it reached the examination hall. Deputy Commissioner Kumud Sahay and Sub-Divisional Officer Anant Kumar visited the centre after receiving information about the incident. Kumar said that there was no possibility of a paper leak but the allegations will be investigated.
The examination will be held on March 17 and will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will have a written test on General Studies (Paper 1) starting from 10 AM to 12 PM. The second shift will be testing General Studies (Paper 2) between 2 PM to 4 PM on the same day. The prelims examination will consist of two papers with a total of 200 marks. As per the marking scheme, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Ahead of the Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination (CCE Prelims) 2024, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) released the admit card for the registered candidates on March 12. However, with only two days for the examination on March 17, some of the registered candidates have been facing major issues in downloading their respective admit cards from the website.
The concern has been raised after some of the candidates who applied for correction on their application form JPSC were not able to download the admit cards from the website.
In January, the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination was cancelled as the question paper was leaked hours before the test, conducted by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission, was to start.
On January 28, 2024, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) CGL exam experienced a question paper leak. The state police formed a special investigation team (SIT) to identify and arrest the accused, and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating. As of February 2024, three people had been arrested, including Mohammad Shamim, an under secretary of the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha, and his two sons. The ED has also asked the Jharkhand government for relevant documents and information, and suspects that money laundering is involved.
