Chief Minister Hemant Soren today took to recounting the achievements of his government in the field of women’s empowerment as he wrote a long post on X.
“To give rights and respect to half the population of the state, this brother and son of yours and the Jharkhand government have worked to implement many historic schemes in the last four and a half years,” he said.
Under the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana (JMMSY), more than 48 lakh sisters of the state will get an honorarium of 12 thousand every year. If I have 3-4 sisters in a family, then the honorarium for that family will be 36-48 thousand rupees in a year from this scheme alone.
Jharkhand is the first state in the country where the state government is honoring widows, abandoned or single mothers and sisters above 50 years of age with a pension of Rs 1,000 every month. This pension amount is becoming the support of old age for lakhs of mothers and sisters. This amount of Rs 12,000 every year is strengthening the support of your old age.
Your Jharkhand government has also worked to give wings to the dreams of 10 lakh adolescent girls of the state by connecting them with Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana. This assistance amount of Rs 40,000 is helping every sister and daughter of mine to move forward.
This is also the first time in the history of Jharkhand that thousands of crores of rupees have been given to lakhs of mothers and sisters associated with Sakhi Mandal in the form of bank credit/linkage. In the last four and a half years, an amount of more than Rs 10 thousand crore has been provided to Didi-sisters for livelihood promotion. The amount is 12 times more than the previous governments. Many products manufactured by you under the Palash brand have created a buzz in the country and abroad.
More than 35 thousand mothers and sisters of the state have been provided with alternative livelihood opportunities by connecting them with the Phool-Jhano campaign. An amount of up to Rs 50 thousand has helped each of those mothers and sisters.
Many such schemes like Abua Awas Yojana, Sona Sobran Dhoti-Sari Yojana, Green Ration Card Yojana, Chief Minister Employment Creation Scheme, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Chief Minister Pashudhan Yojana, Bicycle Distribution Scheme etc. are being run by your brother and the Jharkhand government for half the population of the state and others.
This small effort by the Jharkhand government for your honour and self-respect and respect will take a bigger form in the coming times and will continue uninterrupted.
Today, on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, once again many congratulations, best wishes and Johar to all the mothers, sisters and daughters, said the Chief Minister.
