State government committed to encourage investment: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has established itself as the world's fifth-largest economy, with Madhya Pradesh making steady progress towards development. Significant advancements are being made in agriculture, industrialization and employment. Yadav emphasized the need for large-scale industrialization in the state and noted that efforts are underway to achieve this.

The Bhoomi-Pujan ceremony held today marks a step in this direction. He also announced the establishment of a police station in Acharpura area of Bhopal to enhance security for employees and improve police management as industrial activities continues to expand. Yadav was adressing the Bhoomi Pujan programme for the TWE-OBT Industrial Group's new world-class Hygiene Non-Woven Unit in the Acharpura Industrial Area of Bhopal.

Chief Minister announced that a series of regional industry summits has been launched to enhance industrial growth across the state. Summits have already taken place in Ujjain and Jabalpur, with future events scheduled for Gwalior, Rewa, and Sagar. These gatherings have been key in attracting investment and spurring industrial growth throughout Madhya Pradesh, creating around 75,000 new jobs.

Similar summits have been held in major industrial centers like Mumbai, Coimbatore, and Bangalore, with another set for Kolkata on September 19th. The goal of these summits is to draw significant investors and industrialists to Madhya Pradesh for expansion opportunities.

Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh offers comprehensive facilities for investment and industry. The state is home to humble, diligent, hardworking, and dedicated human resources, with no signs of labor strikes. Both the political leadership and administrative system are supportive of industrial growth, backed by an industry-friendly policy.

Yadav noted that industries benefit not only industrialists but also create employment opportunities, generate revenue and enhance the state's reputation both nationally and globally. The government remains committed to attracting investment and enhancing industrial activity throughout the state.

Chief Minister said that initiating a non-woven fabric unit in the state by the TWE-OBT industry group is commendable. Its production in the country will reduce our dependence on other countries and increase our self-reliance. He expressed the hope that this industry group will establish more units of non-woven fabric in the state. Chief Minister Yadav also invited TWE-OBT to set-up employment-based units like carpet manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh.

Bhopal MP Alok Sharma said that, under Chief Minister Yadav's leadership, industrial activities are growing across the state. The Berasia area of Bhopal, traditionally known for its agricultural focus, is now emerging as an industrial center. Berasia MLA Vishnu Khatri also addressed at the event. Additionally, Jörg Artmeier and Rudra Chatterjee from the Group provided details about their organization's activities.

Notably, TWE-OBT Private Limited is an almost 100-year-old multinational joint venture, headquartered in Emsdetten, Germany. The OBT Group, in India is engaged in the field of handmade carpets, non-woven fabric, technical textile fabric, furniture, and tea. The group is one of the world's top largest companies in non-woven manufacturing, with 12 plants operating in different countries. OBT is setting up this unit with an investment of over Rs 126 crore, which will produce non-woven hygiene products such as ADL, top seats, and back seats which are currently imported from China. With the operation of this unit, their production will start in India itself, which will be an important step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. Dedicated to the goal of industrialization, this unit will provide direct employment to more than 250 people, and will also pave the way for the development of high-quality technical skills among local individuals. The state government has allotted 38 thousand square meters of land in the Acharpura industrial area of ??Bhopal for the unit. Commercial production from the unit is likely to begin by September 2025.
