Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar has directed that the State Assembly should be made paperless by the monsoon session of 2025. For this, National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) should be implemented in the Assembly. He has also instructed to give adequate information about this project to the assembly members before its implementation. Assembly Speaker Tomar was addressing the meeting of NeVA House Committee in the Assembly today.
The Assembly Speaker said that this project needs to be implemented as soon as possible. He said that till now 25 houses of 23 states have signed MoU to implement the e-Vidhan project sponsored by the Central Government. The project has been implemented in 14 houses of 13 states of the country. Assembly Speaker Tomar said that now the committee should be informed about its progress every two months. It was told in the meeting that the ‘Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs’ of the Central Government was made the nodal department for this project.
Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora talked about taking the help of NIC in the e-Vidhan project up to the district level. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the committee of MLAs formed to implement this project should soon visit those states where the project has been successfully implemented. He also talked about paying special attention to cyber security for the e-Vidhan project . In the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, Awadhesh Pratap Singh informed that 60 percent of the total project cost will be borne by the Central Government and 40 percent by the State Government.
The Central Government has so far approved project works worth Rs 19 crore 36 lakh. Tablets, networks e-learning and e-facility centers were also discussed in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that for the convenience of the MLAs, the NIC center of the district will be called the nodal training agency so that the MLAs can conveniently avail of this service.
The presentation of the project was given by Additional Secretary Virendra Kumar. It was told in the meeting that under the Digital India Program of the Central Government, e-Vidhan (NeVA) has been launched to make all the assemblies of the country paperless and bring them on one platform. Committee members MLA Ajay Vishnoi, Bala Bachchan, Reeti Pathak, Suresh Raje, Nitendra Singh Rathore, Gaurav Singh Pardhi, Additional Chief Secretary of Science and Technology, and Sanjay Dubey were present in the meeting.
