Monday, 02 December 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Sunday organised a single window camp on Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM- Uday) scheme which received great response with thousands of people visiting these camps on the first day to sort out issues related to the scheme.

On Sunday, as many as 414 new applications/registrations were done, whereas 411 pending applications were cleared from deficiencies. In all, 113 applications were approved and 83 Conveyance deed and authorisation slip were executed in various unauthorized colonies. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena visited the camp site at Shyam Vihar Najafgarh and interacted with the beneficiaries regarding their satisfaction about the various services offered in the camp. He also distributed certificate of ownership to 40 beneficiaries and directed DDA to clear all pending 62,000 applications expeditiously while also disposing of the fresh applications in a mission mode so as to benefit the maximum number of people.

On the instructions of Saxena, the DDA started the camp for the people residing in the unauthorised colonies of Delhi. The camps are to be held every Saturday and Sunday from November 30 to December 29 in the 10 processing centres located inside these unauthorised colonies.

On this occasion, Saxena said, “The camps are conducted not only for old cases to clear deficiencies but also new cases are also being dealt with. I urge people to come in large numbers and get their pending issues resolved as government has come to their doorstep.” He said that the PM-UDAY Scheme was launched in Delhi with the Prime Minister’s commitment to provide ownership rights to people in unauthorized colonies and these camps would significantly help in disposing of the applications that are pending for the last few years.

West Delhi BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat was also present at the camp site with the LG, while New Delhi BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj was present at the camp site of Khirki Extension Malviya Nagar.

“Some of the services that are offered in these camps include matters related to issue of conveyance deed and authorisation slip, GIS Survey, new registration and assistance regarding bond and notarization. These camps are located in Burari, Najafgarh, Aya Nagar Ext, Karawal Nagar, Budh Vihar Colony, Nangloi, Khirki Extension Malviya Nagar and New Ashok Nagar,” a senior DDA official said.

Earlier this year, Saxena had directed DDA that ten Processing Centres under PM-UDAY to remain open and functional on all seven days of the week including Saturdays and Sundays. “The step was aimed at expediting the processing of applications and ensuring timely delivery of ownership rights to the residents of PM-UDAY colonies. The Lt. Governor had received several representations from residents of PM-UDAY Unauthorized colonies to this effect,” a statement said, adding that the scheme is aimed at granting ownership rights to the residents of 1731 unauthorized colonies in Delhi. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide legal recognition to residents’ properties, by conferring ownership rights.
