Sports infrastructure continuously developing in MP: CM

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that sports infrastructure is continuously developing in the state. With the way the work is going on under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the players of the state are not far away from receiving Vikram Award and other awards in Asiad and Olympics.

The state and the country have many talented players from Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium and Tukojirao Pawar Stadium in Dewas. With the gift of synthetic athletic track being given to Dewas on the birth anniversary of Tukojirao Pawar, players will get more opportunities to hone their talent. Efforts will continue to expand sports facilities in Dewas.

Chief Minister  Yadav was addressing the Bhoomi pujan programme of the synthetic athletic track at Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium, Dewas virtually from New Delhi.

Chief Minister Yadav said that the area is being developed as a mega metropolis by connecting Dewas, Ujjain Dhar and Indore. The state government is working rapidly for industrialization. In the changing times, this sector will have a unique identity in the country.

Chief Minister Yadav said that Dewas is blessed by two goddesses, Maa Tulja Bhavani and Chamunda Mata, and the area is also blessed by Kaila Devi. Malwa, abounding in diverse characteristics, became independent after Chhatrapati Maharaj Shivaji through Holkar-Pawar-Scindia and Bajirao Ji Maharaj after the restoration of the empire by the Hindavi army. This also increased the aura of the Devasthanams of Malwa region. The presence of Pt. Kumar Gandharva and the bank note press make Dewas unique.

Notably, 114 sports infrastructure (stadiums/sports complexes/indoor halls) have been constructed by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in Madhya Pradesh, and 30 sports infrastructures are under construction. A total of 8 synthetic athletic tracks have been constructed in the state.

The 9th synthetic athletic track is being set up at Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium in Dewas. Apart from this, 3 more athletic tracks have also been approved in Indore, Ratlam, and Chhatarpur. 12 synthetic hockey turfs have been established by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in the state and 6 synthetic hockey turfs are under construction. The state government will build sports stadiums in all the districts under ‘One District-One Sports Complex’ and there is a plan to build sports stadiums in all blocks under the Chief Minister Sports Infrastructure Scheme.

Synthetic athletic track costing Rs 9 crore 18 lakh to come up in Dewas

The Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium of Dewas is spread across 10.00 acres of land. The stadium has 4 synthetic courts for badminton, 2 courts for basketball, a 25-meter swimming pool, an open gym, and softball and chess games, besides imparting training for women’s self-defense.

A synthetic athletic track is being set up in the stadium by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department for the athletic players at a cost of Rs 9 crore 18 lakh in which 400 meter synthetic athletic track and 8 lane facility will be available. Gym equipment worth Rs 26 lakh will also be provided for the fitness of the players.

Deputy Chief Minister and in-charge of Dewas district Jagdish Deora, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang joined the programme virtually. Dewas MP Mahendra Singh Solanki, District Panchayat President Leela Ataria, MLA Gayatri Raje Pawar, Mayor Geeta Durgesh Aggarwal and other public representatives were present in the programme held in Dewas.
