Special judge of CBI convicts 7 accused in Vyapam

The Special Judge for CBI Vyapam Cases, Bhopal on Monday convicted eleven accused including Avinash Jayant, Rajesh Prajapati, Lokendra Dhakar, Bhoora Rawat, Radheshyam Yadav and Vikas Rawat (all 06 candidates of PCRT-2012) and Naresh Prajapati, Hariom Singh Tomar, Hemant Singh Jat, Rambir Rawat & Sarvesh Kumar Jha (all 5 accused impersonators in PCRT-2012) to 07 years’ Rigorous  Imprisonment with combined fine of Rs. 1.10 lakh in a case related to Police Constable Recruitment Test-2012 (PCRT-2012) conducted by Vyapam, Bhopal.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case on August 03, 2015 in compliance of the orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated July 09, 02015, by taking over an FIR registered, vide Crime No. 05/14 dated March 13, 2014 at STF PS, Bhopal on the allegations of illegal selection of candidates (Avinash Jayant, Rajesh Prajapati, Lokendra Dhakar, Bhoora Rawat, Radheshyam Yadav & Vikas Rawat) who were allegedly involved in cheating through impersonation in connivance with middlemen/solvers and others in the Police Constable Recruitment Test-2012 (PCRT-2012) held on September 30, 2012. It was also alleged that the accused were involved in forgery of valuable security, using forged documents as genuine, criminal conspiracy, using unfair means, etc.

After investigation, STF, Bhopal had filed initial charge sheet on 07.06.2014 and a supplementary charge sheet on September 14, 2014. Further, 2nd Supplementary charge sheet dated January 26, 2015 was also filed by STF, Bhopal. STF had kept further investigation open with regard to other absconding/ untraced persons.

During the CBI investigation, absconding accused were traced. Thereafter, a supplementary chargesheet was filed by CBI on September 28, 2016. After completion of further investigation, CBI also filed another supplementary chargesheet on June 30, 2017.

The Court, after trial, held 11 accused guilty and sentenced them accordingly.
