Providing doorstep services to the elderly in the city, the district health department and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) jointly organised special camps at ward 17 offices on November 6-7 to issue Ayushman cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above.
During these camps, Ayushman cards were issued to 1,600 senior citizens. To further assist senior citizens, additional camps will be held over the next two days at 19 ward offices across the city.
Dr Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer, said the camps are being organised with the support of the BMC at the municipal ward offices. Senior citizens can conveniently have their Ayushman cards made at their nearby ward office.
The camps on November 8-9 will be held at wards 08, 09, 14, 19, 22, 23, 35, 36, 37, 38, 47, 48, 51, 69, 75, 76, 77, 78, and 79 of the BMC.The issuance of Ayushman cards is the first step towards providing senior citizens in the state with a medical insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh annually.
