An SIT has been formed under the leadership of SP (Rural), Ranchi in the murder case of Special Branch Police Sub Inspector Anupam Kachhap. An FIR has also been registered in this case at Kanke police station. SIT and FSL team have inspected the crime scene and collected evidence on Saturday.

Body of deceased Inspector Anupam Kachhap was recovered from Boreya Road near the ring road of Kanke police station area on Saturday morning.

The SIT team and the FSL team inspected the crime scene and also searched the CCTV footage of the surrounding area. The SIT team has thoroughly interrogated 14 people in this case. These are the 14 people who were celebrating the birthday party with the deceased Inspector Anupam Kachhap on the night of August 2. After that party, the body of the inspector was found on the ring road on Saturday morning.

An SIT of two DSPs, eight Inspectors and five Sub-Inspectors has been formed under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (Rural) for qualitative investigation, unravelling of the case and arrest of the criminals.

The expert team of FSL inspected the crime scene and seized exhibits and boxes etc related to the crime. CCTV footage is being scanned at the crime scene and all possible routes of arrival and escape of the criminals. In the course of investigation, along with other persons, those 14 persons are being thoroughly questioned who were present at the birthday party with the deceased before the murder incident and work is being done on all human and technical intelligence points of the investigation.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Chotanagpur, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranchi, Superintendent of Police Rural and other police officials inspected the scene of the incident and directed the SIT to investigate all possible aspects and solve the case quickly.

The Director General and Inspector General of Police visited RIMS and met the family members of the deceased sub-inspector and assured them of solving the case quickly and providing all possible help.
