Thursday, 30 May 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar has said that under the seventh phase, election campaigning in Rajmahal, Godda and Dumka parliamentary constituencies will end at 5 pm on Thursday. Along with that, the leaders and workers of political parties who have gone from outside to the parliamentary constituency for election campaigning etc. will have to return as per the rules.

Kumar said that in view of the heat, special arrangements have been made at the counting centers on the day of voting. "Fans, sheds, lemon water, chairs, medical facilities etc. have been restored at the booths to avoid the heat. Vehicles will also be provided to bring and take voters from far-flung areas to the booths," he said. He was addressing a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan, Dhurwa on Wednesday.

The CEO said that along with making special arrangements so that the voting percentage is not affected by the heat, efforts are also being made to ensure that voters do not have to wait too long in the queue. “For this, polling personnel have been trained. To increase the voting percentage, extensive voter awareness campaigns have already been launched. In response to a question, he said that strong security arrangements have been made for fair and fear-free voting,” he added.

In the seventh phase of elections, voting is to be held in Rajmahal, Godda and Dumka on June 1. Rajmahal is such a parliamentary constituency where there are more women voters than men.
