Habibganj police have booked a security guard of a private company who duped people of Rs 60 lakhs, accused used to lure them with the promise of doubling the money in 2 months in the name of investment in a chit fund company.
It has become clear in the police investigation that the accused has duped 6 people of lakhs of rupees. This includes a scientist as well. The police have registered a case of fraud against the accused and started looking for the accused.
Habibganj police said that Naval Singh Lodhi runs a tea stall in Kaliyasot Dam area. Naval was acquainted with a youth named Chotu Lodhi. The accused used to call him uncle. Chotu Lodhi was a security guard in a private agency. Last year, he was posted in the Pollution Control Board office in Banskhedi.
Chhotu had lured Naval with the promise of doubling his money. He assured him that if he invests money in his scheme, he can earn 40 to 50 percent profit in a few days. Believing this, Naval gradually invested about Rs 5 lakh in the scheme.
Chhotu Lodhi deceived many people along with Naval to invest money in his scheme. All of them together gave Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh to Chhotu. Chhotu's wife Kajal Lodhi was also involved in this work, who kept deceiving people to invest money.
After making the investment, Chhotu gave 19 cheques of a private bank to Naval in return for the investment and said that you people can withdraw the money through these cheques. After this, Chhotu suddenly disappeared. When the cheques were checked in the bank, it was found that those cheques were fake.
Police said that Chhotu also cheated Dushyant Sharma, who works as a scientist in EPCO, of about Rs 40 lakh by luring him to open a company. Chhotu had assured Dushyant to open a firm and provide jobs to people in it.
After taking the money, he fled. Police are also investigating this case. The people who were cheated lodged a complaint in the police station. After investigating the matter, the police have registered a case of fraud and started searching for Chhotu Lodhi.
