Santosh Kumar Gangwar will be the new Governor of Jharkhand. The current Governor CP Radhakrishnan has been made the Governor of Maharashtra.

President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday night appointed new governors in half a dozen states including Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. After about 17 months, Jharkhand has again got a new governor. Santosh Gangwar of Jharkhand has been appointed as the new Governor of Jharkhand.

Santosh Gangwar, the 12th Governor of Jharkhand, has been an MP 8 times. Gangwar was active in BJP for a long time. He has also been an MP from Bareilly Lok Sabha seat. He won 6 times in a row from 1989 to 2009. He had to face defeat in 2009. He did not get a ticket in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Born on November 1, 1948 in Bareilly, Santosh Gangwar has received education from Agra University and Rohilkhand University of Uttar Pradesh. He is currently the chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises. Earlier, he was the Minister of State with independent charge of the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the Central Government.

President Draupadi Murmu has appointed new governors of several states including Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Jharkhand and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. A release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the President has accepted the resignation of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit. Gulab Chand Kataria, who is currently the Governor of Assam, has been appointed in his place.

Sikkim Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya will now be the new Governor of Assam. He has also been given additional charge of Manipur. Om Prakash Mathur has been appointed as the new Governor of Sikkim. C.P. Radhakrishnan will be the new Governor of Maharashtra. He is currently the Governor of Jharkhand. He also has additional charge of Telangana.

Jishnu Dev Verma has been appointed as the new Governor of Telangana. Haribhau Kishanrao Bagde has been appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan, Raman Deka as the Governor of Chhattisgarh and C.H. Vijayshankar has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya. Apart from this, K. Kailashnath has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The release states that all the appointments will be effective from the date they take charge.
