The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) proudly announces its recognition as one of India's Best Employers Among Nation-Builders for 2024 by the Great Place To Work Institute India. This esteemed accolade celebrates SAIL's enduring dedication to nation-building and its efforts to foster a high-trust workplace culture. In December 2023, SAIL also earned the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification for the period from December 2023 to December 2024 by the same institute.
SAIL's steel plants in the public sector were instrumental during the nascent stages of India's development post-independence. Established in the 1950s and 1960s with significant capital investments, these plants laid the foundation for the country’s self-reliance and rapid industrialization. Over the decades, SAIL and India's steel industry have grown, positioning India as the second-largest steel producer globally. The Great Place To Work Institute India instituted this award to honor organizations that meet stringent criteria and are evaluated through an independent assessment. KK Singh, Director (Personnel) at SAIL, accepted the award on behalf of the company on June 19th at a ceremony in Mumbai.
