In commemoration of the World Quality Day, RDCIS, CET & SSO units of SAIL Ranchi celebrated Quality Day. At RDCIS, The quality flag was hoisted by S. K. Kar, ED (RDCIS), joined by S. Vashishta, CGM (Safety). At CET, SK Verma, ED(CET) hoisted the Quality flag joined by T. Ghosh, CGM (CET).
Addressing the team CET, Verma shared his vision, experience and emphasized on the basic mantra of quality and said that we should include quality in our daily routine and make it our habit. He expressed happiness while appreciating the achievements of the team on successful placement of Work Orders for various mega projects of different plants in recent times.
Kar also administered the Quality Pledge to all employees of RDCIS and SSO. In his address Kar highlighted the fact that quality encompasses all facets of an organization and its responsibility therefore lay with each individual. He referred to the example of the Japanese industry that could seize on the opportunity to improve upon quality. He also referred to the use of bio char, hydrogen based DRI and associated steelmaking in the context of low carbon steel.
RS Prasad and Priyanka Parameswaran administered the Quality Pledge at CET to all the employees in Hindi and English respectively. Certificates were awarded to the winners of the Quality Quiz and Quality Speech Competitions which were earlier organized for employees of RDCIS and SSO. The topic of the Speech Competition was “Quality: from compliance to performance”. The programme was coordinated by Rajeev Baskiyar, GM (PC). At CET, the program was organized by Abhaya Kumar, GM (CET) under the guidance of Ghosh with the help of Team-CET and Administration Department.
