The one-and-a-half-day conclave on Learning and Development named SAIL Gyan Utsav 2024, is being organized by Management Training Institute of SAIL at Ranchi during 24-25 June 2024 to mark the celebration of its 62nd Foundation Day. At the outset, Sanjay Dhar, CGM (HR-L&D) and Head of MTI welcomed all the dignitaries and the delegates who are mainly from the Plants/Units of SAIL.
The Conclave was inaugurated by K K Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL through online mode and the Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. D K Srivastava, Director, IIM, Ranchi. Shri Ashis Chakraborty, Ex-ED (HRD), MTI, also shared his experiences on this occasion.
Learning & Development (L&D) fraternity of Plants/Units of SAIL made presentations as part of the L&D Presentation Competition. The presentations focussed on innovative best practices having high impact and scalability at other units.
A Panel Discussion on Synergizing line managers with L&D fraternity to build a thriving Learning Culture in the organization was also organized. The focus of the discussion was on aligning L&D goals with the Business objectives of the Company and fostering collaboration between L&D and Line to make a learning ecosystem at the shop floor level.
MTI also felicitated top learners of various learning initiatives taken by the organization during last year viz. LinkedIn Learning, Futureskills Prime, Harvard Manage Mentor, Reverse Mentoring and Journey based interventions like Tarang, Aanya and Leader as Coach as a token of appreciation for their motivation. The Single Point Of Contacts (SPOCs) for these initiatives at Plants/Units and the best Training Engineers were also felicitated on the occasion to recognize their efforts. Director (Personnel) handed over the Mementoes and Certificates of Merit to the champions. He also handed over the MTI Excellence Awards to the executives and non-executives of MTI for excellence in their performance during 2023-24 on the occasion.
On day 2 of the Conclave, the panel discussions on future focus in L&D and the best practices in L&D – industry experience are planned with representatives from Tata Steel, Tega Industries Ltd., Simulanis and Skill Soft. An Open House interaction with the Director (Personnel), SAIL on the way forward for taking L&D to the next orbit is also scheduled. The Conclave shall end by 1:30 PM with felicitation of Speakers & Dignitaries.
