A high-level delegation from the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), led by Chairman Amarendu Prakash, recently visited the Steelanol Unit at the ArcelorMittal Gent Plant in Belgium. The delegation included Anirban Dasgupta, Director in charge of SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant, along with other senior representatives from the company.
The visit to the Steelanol Unit, which specializes in ethanol recovery, highlights SAIL’s efforts to explore innovative technologies in steel production and sustainability. The facility has been developed in partnership with LanzaTech, a global leader in carbon capture and biofuel technology. The collaboration represents a key move towards reducing carbon emissions and adopting cleaner industrial practices in steel manufacturing.
