Rs 18,49,000 compensation given to 33 people in NLA

Sunday, 14 July 2024 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Cheques worth rupees 1,84 90,00 were disbursed among 33 recipients under the victim compensation scheme today in the national lok adalat here in Daltonganj.

The disbursal of cheques was simple and austere. It matched with the grieving mood of the recipients who received the cheques for the 'murder' of their own people.

Such a disbursal of cheque is done with no clapping around. It is for respect for the recipient. This is the beauty of the national lok adalat that cares for the sentiments. Here in the civil courts of Daltonganj it was in abundance. The cheque disbursal was very humane in touch.

The judges and judicial officers were led by the principal district and sessions judge Niraj Kumar Srivastav who stood in order before the lamp which was lit by the women who had come to draw the benefit of the national lok adalat.

It was a 5 minute start to the national lok adalat today which in the past used to be an hour long start interspersed With speeches of the VIPs then gracing the inauguration.

No fanfare, no ostentation but straight business - was the hallmark of the national lok adalat here today. There was no chief guest. In other words the motley gathering of the visitors at the national lok adalat were the people who mattered most.

The 13 benches set up today for the national lok adalat functioned quite flawlessly.

This correspondent spoke to a cross section of visitors at the venue of the national lok adalat who said almost identically "Our time is saved. It's a rainy time. We are to catch up with our agri activities also back in our villages."

Sources said the national lok adalat days are the days when the Bar and the Bench stand in total cordiality and responsibility to make the national lok adalat day a grand success.

Here it was when the Bench represented by the principal district and sessions judge Niraj Kumar Srivastav and his team and the Bar represented by its president Ramdev Prasad Yadav stood together for the take off of the nationals lok adalat.

The judicial officer who oversaw all was the secretary DLSA Arpit Shrivastva here.
