Review meeting of Supply Department, instructions given for timely and regular ration distribution

Thursday, 27 June 2024 | PNS | Jamshedpur

A review meeting of the Supply Department was held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal in the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur. During the meeting, it was highlighted that under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), only 73.19 percent of food grains had been delivered at the doorstep against the target for June 2024. The Deputy Commissioner directed that this figure be brought up to 100 percent within two days. Additionally, the distribution of food grains for June 2024, currently at 57.10 percent, is to be completed by the prescribed date of 15 July 2024.

All Marketing Officers (MOs) were instructed to ensure that doorstep delivery of food grains is completed by the 15th of every month under the NFSA. Similarly, green rice is to be delivered to public distribution system (PDS) shops by the 5th of every month under the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme (JSFSS). The District Supply Officer was also directed to issue show-cause notices to PDS vendors with low distribution rates.

Mittal emphasized that under the Postman Scheme, foodgrain packets must be delivered to beneficiaries' homes in the first week of each month. He also mandated that online entry of foodgrains be completed on the same day they arrive at the warehouse and that the Assistant Warehouse Manager ensures the lifting of foodgrains from the truck on the same day.

Under the Sona-Sobran Dhoti Saree Scheme, all beneficiaries are to receive 100 percent of their clothes within a week, and equivalent amounts should be deposited through challan. The meeting also addressed pending cases in the BSO and DSO logins on the ERCMS portal, instructing that further action should be taken only after physical verification for new ration card issues, dealer changes, member deletions, and ration card surrenders. Pending cases on the PGMS portal are to be resolved within 48 hours wherever possible. Additionally, instructions were given to complete the pending payments of farmers under the Paddy Procurement Scheme for the Kharif marketing season 2023-24 without delay.

Special Distribution Officer Mahendra Kumar, District Supply Officer Salman Zafar Khijri, all Block Supply Officers, Marketing Officers, Assistant Warehouse Managers, Computer Operators, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
