A three-day workshop on research methodology was started under the joint aegis of International Benevolent Research Foundation (IBRF) and IQAC, St. Xavier's College, Ranchi on Friday. This research workshop was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Father Nabor Lakra with his welcome speech.
In the inaugural session of the workshop, Dr. Arnesha Guha and Dr. Father Prabhat Kennedy Soreng were invited as keynote speakers to give information related to the research topic. Addressing the participants, Dr. Arnesh Guha said that to do research, it is necessary to know the basics and how many types of research are done. He also explained to the participants the types of social research and its various dimensions.
The second speaker, Dr. Prabhat Kennedy Soreng, said that the new generation scholars are unaware of the process, rules and conditions of research, due to which they have to face many difficulties in doing doctorate. They should protect themselves from topics like copyright. About 100 participants from Bihar, Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha attended the workshop. During this period, a question-and-answer session of the participants also took place.
IQAC Convenor Dr. Shiv Kumar, B.Ed Department Head Dr. Father Florence Purti, other professors, research scholars and students of postgraduate department were present on the occasion. The first session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ajay Srivastava, Head of the Department of Botany.
