One of the two female tiger cubs rescued from Budhni and brought to Bhopal's Van Vihar National Park died on Tuesday, while the condition of the other cub is critical. They had multiple fractures on their spinal cord and pelvic girdle. This completely paralyzed their back part.
On July 15, a male cub died after being hit by a train on Budhni's Midghat railway track. At the same time, two female cubs were injured.
On the same day, a team of doctors from Bhopal had reached here for treatment. The team was preparing for treatment, when a tigress arrived late in the evening. After this, the doctor and the forest department team had to run away. The tigress sat near the cubs all night. Due to this, the rescue was done on July 16.
Both the cubs were rescued from Midghat for the first time by train and brought to Bhopal. Since then, treatment has been going on in Van Vihar.
One of the two cubs was not eating since the day of rescue. He died on Tuesday. The condition of the other injured cub also remains critical.
