Ranchi Dist Administration acquiring private vehicles for polling

Ranchi District Administration is busying in preparing for the voting is to be held in the sixth phase in the district on May 25. Some areas of Khunti Lok Sabha constituency in Ranchi district also come under Mandar and Tamar assembly constituencies. Voting for Khunti and Lohardaga parliamentary constituency is to be held on May 13. In these areas, vehicles are required to transport the sector officer, EVM and polling party to the designated polling station. Ranchi District Transport Officer (DTO), Akhilesh Kumar said that arrangements for vehicles to conduct the elections have almost been made.

 

Kumar said that these vehicles include Scorpio, Sumo and Innova. Till now around 200 cars have been seized in the district. Vehicle owners have been asked to deposit their vehicles at Morhabadi ground on May 9. Also, a bus is required for the polling party. For this, buses are being taken from schools. The private bus is being seized by the police line he added.

 

"Let us tell here that those who have been called to deposit the vehicle have not deposited it now. So in such a situation, they have to deposit the vehicle by 6th May. Otherwise such people will be blacklisted by the District Transport Office. It is noteworthy that the last date for depositing the vehicle was April 25," said Kumar.

 

Vehicle owners whose vehicles have been seized in Ranchi district. They will have to give from 10th to 13th May and 22nd to 24th May for election work. For this, car owners will be given a fare of Rs 1470 per day and bus owners will be given Rs 3500 per day.

 

Ranchi DTO also said that 400 buses have been given from Ranchi to other districts for election work. In which 80 buses have been given to Lohardaga, 120 to Simdega, 100-100 to Gumla and Khunti. He told that 150 private buses will be required for Ranchi district.
