Ram Temple Replica - A double delight for devotees this Durga Puja

Sunday, 01 September 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

For ardent Ram Lalla devotees in Ranchi, a Ram Mandir will be unveiled in the City this Durga Puja.

Revellers, along with paying obeisance to Maa Bhavani who will be seated in the sanctum sanctorum of the pandal, will also be able to pay their respect to Lord Ram. A 26- feet high 4D model of Lord Bajrangbali made of fiber placed in the center of the ground will also be an added attraction.

The idol of Goddess Durga will be about 32 feet wide and 19 feet high while that of Lord Shri Ram which will be made of silicon will be about 8 feet high. The pandal is being constructed at a whopping cost of Rs 98 lakh.

The model of the puja pandal is being constructed in the old Vidha Sabha ground by Shri Ram Lalla Puja Committee, Ranchi. More than 200 artisans are engaged in shaping the structure for which work has been ongoing in Kolkata for about two months. The fabrication of the pillars, peak and other designs which has been done in Bengal has been brought to the City.

As an added attraction for the seekers, fair and food stalls will also be set up in the ground premises.

President Ashok Chaudhary said that the length of the pandal will be 170 feet and the width will be 120 feet while the pandal will rise 100 feet high. “Unprecedented lighting is also being ordered from other places in the country, which will make the colourful decoration inside the pandal look even more beautiful. The idol of Ram Lalla which the devotees will see here will be directly or indirectly similar to the idol of Lord Shri Ram installed in Ayodhya.”

General Secretary of the committee Kunal Ajmani said that this time the Puja pandal will be the biggest pandal made in the whole of Jharkhand till date and will also be a center of attraction for the devotees. More and more people will be able to come to the pandal and see the model of Shri Ram temple of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi of Shri Ayodhya Dham continuously from Pratipada throughout Navratri.

On Saturday, the Khunti Pujan (bhumi pujan) for the construction of the puja pandal was performed under the guidance of Acharya Anup Dadhich in the presence of many guests including the committee's chairman Ashok Chaudhary, general secretary Kunal Ajwani, Prakash Dheliya, Raju Poddar, Rohit Agarwal, Nirmal Jalan and other committee members.
