Rains continue to lash the State capital

For the past 8 days Bhopal has witnessed rain and heavy rainfall was witnessed on Tuesday, 4.5 mm of rainfall was recorded in the past 9 hours. Before this, there was bright sunshine, but at 11 am the weather changed and it started raining. Heavy rain continued for an hour and the same amount has been recorded  in 16 days.

Two and a half inches of rainfall was witnessed on August 3. There was a break in monsoon for seven consecutive days. Due to this, the day temperature had crossed 33 degrees, but due to rain it came down to 30.6 degrees on Tuesday.

Due to rain, the water level in Upper Lake increased. The level was 1666.40 feet on Monday, which reached 1666.45 feet by Tuesday evening. The gates of Bhadbhada Dam can be opened again as soon as there is a spell of heavy rain.

Earlier the day temperature reached 33.3 degrees on Monday. This was the highest temperature in August.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a trend of 13 inches of rain in Bhopal in August, but this time only 9.8 inches of rainfall has been recorded, more than 33 inches of rain has been recorded in Bhopal so far, which is about 90 percent of the season, but the indifference of monsoon has also been seen in August. There was good rain in Bhopal for the first 4 days, but after that only light rain continued. Due to this, the quota could not be full till August.

This time the sluice gates of all dams in Bhopal have also been opened. All 13 sluice gates of Kaliyasot dam have been opened. 4 out of 8 gates sluice of Kolar dam are open. Sluice gates of Bhadbhada and Kerwa dams were also opened. Sluice gates were closed after the rain stopped. Sluice gates are closed for the last 10 days.

There is a trend of rain on an average of 14 days in the month of August in Bhopal, on an average 13 inches of rainfall is recorded in this month.
