Radha Raturi set to be the new chief secretary of U’khand

Senior officer of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Radha Raturi will be the new chief secretary of Uttarakhand. She will take charge from the incumbent CS SS Sandhu who is superannuating on January 31. Raturi is at present the additional chief secretary in Uttarakhand government holding key responsibility of chief minister office, home and secretariat administration. An officer of the 1988 batch of IAS, she will be the first woman CS of the state. Her husband Anil Raturi is a retired IPS officer who has served as the director general of the State police force. The appointment of Raturi to the top post of administration in the State became apparent when it became clear that the government is not giving another extension to outgoing CS Sandhu. Raturi is slated to retire in March this year and it is expected that the government will give her an extension in view of the Lok Sabha election.
