Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Thursday charged that Public Works Department of Arvind Kejriwal Government has become a hot bed of corruption while the non performing Health Department has totally failed Delhiites.
Making this assertion, Sachdeva said it is shocking to see that even as the PWD and Health Department have failed Delhiites, the concerned Ministers keep themselves engaged in dirty blame game politics and they have time for doing everything except improving the performance of their Department.
The LNJP Hospital Extension cost rise scam is a well thought over scam planned by the then PWD Minister Satyendra Jain. LNJP Hospital extension is a steel based structure and our inquiry shockingly reveals that Satyendra Jain instead of giving a fixed tender gave a tender on rate contract basis, Delhi BJP chief claimed.
As a result of tender being given on rate contract basis, every time price of steel and other building material goes up the rates go up, Sachdeva charged.
Manish Sisodia and Atishi, who have been PWD Ministers after Satyendra Jain, were very well aware of the scam as every time price got escalated the relevant file was put up before the PWD Minister, he said. Thereafter, the completion date of LNJP Hospital Extension was repeatedly extended to allow further cost hikes, he added.
Atishi needs to explain why Satyendra Jain allowed a tender for a hospital on rate contract basis and why despite escalating cost the completion date was allowed to be extended, Sachdeva said.
Delhi BJP President said it is surprising that the PWD is in bad news for several reasons including water logging and hospital cost escalation but Minister Atishi is least bothered about it.
Atishi is raising teachers transfer issue to divert attention from her Public Works Department's Rs. 670 crores scam in LNJP Hospital, he said.
Delhi BJP President said even as on one hand we here of PWD's construction scam on the other hand we hear that one third of operation theatres in Delhi Government hospitals are dysfunctional.
