Principal Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Rashmi Arun Shami said this in a workshop organized at the Academy of Administration to review the preparation for procurement of paddy and coarse grains at support price and distribution of ration to eligible families in the Kharif marketing year 2024-25.
Principal Secretary Shami said that this year paddy milling will be done along with procurement. Therefore, ensure that the paddy is milled and stored in rice warehouses as per the instructions issued. She said that special attention should be paid to ensure that the stored grains do not get spoiled. Ensure timely distribution of food grains to eligible beneficiaries by strengthening the public distribution system.
Commissioner Food and Management Director Ware Housing and Logistics Corporation Sivi Chakraborty said that paddy should be procured as per the guidelines issued by the Central and State Governments. Paddy procurement will be monitored online.
Therefore, wherever non-FAQ paddy is purchased, information about it will be immediately available here. Chakraborty said that there should be complete monitoring of the storage and distribution of procured grains.
MD Civil Supplies Corporation PN Yadav gave information about the procurement process. He said that farmers should not face problems. All necessary facilities shuld be made available in procurement centers as per instructions.
In the workshop, detailed information on pending rent payment of warehouses, pending payment of millers, upgradation of non-FAQ stock, execution of remaining stock of previous years in warehouses, mapping from procurement center to millers and from millers to supply centre, payment of grains procured from farmers, distribution of ration to eligible families, verification of temporary eligibility slips issued to workers registered on e-Shram portal, e-KYC of eligible beneficiaries, inspection of fair price shops through mobile app and others and other issues were given.
